Creationists: Really, what does the scientific community have to gain by lying about evolution?

If there was any evidence for Creationism don't you think scientists would present it? Discovering real proof of creationism would be nothing short of the scientific discovery of a lifetime. It would totally discredit evolution. It would be proof that your god exists. If there was any question at all don't you think scientists would be scrambling to be the first one to make such an important discovery? Their names would go down in history with Galileo, Crick, Einstein and other scientists who will be forever known for their important discoveries. Science isn't lying about evolution. We admit we don't know everything yet, but we strive to continue to find the answers. Creationism is just impeding on scientific progress.
