Why do Evangelical christians keep using Catholicism as a whipping post?

Since when was Roman Catholicism christian mysticism? And the Holy See can't really argue about being a whipping boy, it's done it's fair share of whipping. and killing and torturing and maiming, brainwashing, abusing, thieving. The list is endless, start by asking a Jew.
